WEEK 2 August 24-28th

Dear amazing 6th graders and families,

Welcome to Week 2 of school! These are trying times for us all. I know over 10 families that have been evacuated and more lightning storms appear to be coming this week, potentially. My own sister and best friends have been evacuated. Please reach out to me via e-mail/chat and let me know if you are in this situation so that I am aware. Also, I  know some of you are hosting families, which can make for a chaotic learning situation. We will get through this together.

Parents can pick up the curriculum, packets, books and supplies on the cafeteria benches near the back. Each child's name is on the stack to take. The cafeteria opens at 8:00 am and you can pick them up until 6pm. Attached below is a picture of our bench! Please do not have the students start ANY of the work until I schedule it in class so we can go over it together. Some of the packets will last a few weeks.

On Monday morning we will begin with our daily class meeting to talk about how things are going and do a little check-in. I will post our asynchronous work(done independently) here each day after online instruction takes place. Our lesson plan overview will be shared in Google Classroom each Monday morning at 9:00 am. It is located under the "RESOURCES" tab of classwork.

Let's have a great week of learning and growing together even through these difficult times.

Blessings on you and yours,

Mr. Sweet
