Reading

Room 20 Reading

Each student is given a goal according to their STAR Comprehension reading level and fluency which will constitute 15% of their ELA grade.
Students can access the AR reading test before to check the points and after they have completed a book to take the test. It is very helpful to look up quizzes online line to prepare for the quiz, especially larger, more challenging books. In my classroom library the book level and points for each are clearly labeled.

Try to read an AR book for at least 30 min. each day. Optional on the Weekends!

Newsela-
Newsela Articles will be frequently used to support thematic units in Science, History, and Language Arts. Students may retake the quizzes at a different level. I will put the highest grade in the gradebook.
