FEBRUARY 17-20th

CLASS UPDATE

Science Projects are due: Wednesday, February 18th. Our class will tour the fair on the 19th. Students in our class who finished their projects will share them with the class the week of Feb 23-27th.

ELA Update-We are starting a new book, Crispin, which is a medieval adventure that takes place in England. There will be comprehension and vocabulary activities.

Writing-Room 20 is starting to Revise/Edit our Informational Writes with partners using the grading rubrics, which will be handed out Tuesday.

Math-We will finish Chapter 9 on Statistics this week focusing on Mean Absolute Deviation "MAD"

History-We resume our focus on the last unit with the Egyptians

Geography-We are finishing up the US States and Capitals map this week.

Attendance/Tardies-We have had students habitually showing up late to class. It is disruptive and I'm trying to get my 6th grade crew ready for life. Showing up late to work frequently, leads to getting fired. Please help team up with me in this regard. Some students/parents do not like their children writing a "Bart Simpson" activity so the 6th graders came up with some creative alternative consequences for the students that continue to do so. When tardy they will draw a consequence from the Covercraft rainbow hat. I am genuinely curious if this will make a difference.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful gifts for my birthday. 53 is looking good so far!
