Welcome back to school in 2025!
I truly hope everybody had a memorable, restful, and meaningful extended break with family and loved ones. A huge thank you for the thoughtful and kind gifts I received for the holidays. I had a really nice date with my wife at Hideout over the break.
Here is a quick update about much of the exciting learning happening in Room 20:
This week our class will begin learning about the Ancient Egyptians in History. If you have any unique things you learned, youtube clips, or fascinating articles, please do share.
In Geography we are finishing up our Europe Maps.
In writing, we are starting our Informational Writing by gathering ideas and choosing a topic this week.
In math we resume Chapter 7 focusing on Inequalities.
We are starting a new unit in ELA reading Tuck Everlasting, which explores the theme of immortality and it's potential pros and cons.
Our Field Trip to Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum is coming on Friday, February 6th, so I will check with the office to see which drivers have all of the paperwork filled out.
Finally, I am reading aloud to the class about Martin Luther King Jr.’s abundant life in celebration of his holiday. We are also looking up quotes and watching two of his significant speeches followed by journaling and deep discussions.
Let me know if you have any questions as we launch together into 2026.
