WEEK OF JANUARY 14-17

Welcome back to school in 2025!

Here is a quick update about much of the exciting learning happening in Room 20:

This week our class will continue learning about the Ancient Egyptians in History. If you have any unique things you learned, youtube clips, or fascinating articles, please do share.

In Geography we are learning the 50 United States and Capitals (Review for most). Each student will also chose 1 state to do a brief project.

In writing, we are starting our Informational Writing by gathering ideas and choosing a topic this week.

In math we will start Tuesday learning about Statistics in Chapter 9

We are starting a new unit in ELA about Exploration from "My Perspectives". Our essential question that we will explore is: What drives people to explore? All of the stories will focus on this theme.

Finally, I am reading aloud to the class about Martin Luther King Jr.’s abundant life in celebration of his holiday. We are also looking up quotes and watching two of his significant speeches followed by journaling and deep discussions.

Let me know if you have any questions as we launch together into 2025.
