Class Update!

Our learning adventure continues in Room 20. Here is a brief update:

* In writing we are wrapping up our Final Drafts of our Informational Books on the computers. We are doing Wordly Wise #8 to learn new vocabulary. In addition, we all chose a poem today that we will be memorizing for our exciting Poetry Recital on Thursday, December 20th at 10:35 am after the singalong. Parents are invited for the cocoa and treats. We will be analyzing the poems to find out the key Literary Devices and share why these poems were appealing to us.

* In math we just finished up our Unit of Study on Rate, Ratios, Percents and Unit Conversions. This week we are reviewing Chapters 1-3 to prepare for the MAP test on Thursday and Friday.

* In History we continue our exciting unit of study on Ancient Egypt. We will be doing a "CSI Activity" to figure out how King Tut was killed. We are also learning about the Egyptian Book of the Dead.

* Finally, I am sending home the Science Project details for those students that are interested. I will give a lot of extra credit to any child that participates.

* Wednesday is Ugly Sweater day. I dare your child to wear one uglier than mine!

* Congratulations to Leo and Aubrey who will compete in the school spelling bee this Friday.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Merry, Merry,
Mr. Sweet
