WEEK OF FEBRUARY1st-5th

CLASS UPDATE

Thank you for the awesome class participation in the "eat the rainbow" selfie challenge.
Those were some fun and colorful pics, for sure.

Reading-5th Grade will finish the Fighting Ground this week. I am also reading aloud "Wrinkle in Time". Both of these books should bolster our Accelerated Reader Points, which are due on Tuesday, March 1st!

Writing-5th Grade is writing Persuasive Essays on a wide variety of significant issues that students self-selected. We are learning how to cite research to affirm our viewpoint and to write an effective introduction.

In Math 5th Grade will be learning more about division and multiplication of fractions. We will use 10 Marks Jam Sessions to refine these skills.

History-Our American Revolution test is this coming Friday. Students should be reviewing their study guides by taking their Quizlets.

Heritage Projects are due on February 10th! Let me know if you have ANY questions. I encourage all students to upload photos to their google doc slides. sooner rather than later.  I demonstrated how to insert graphs using Google "Sheets"(Spreadsheets)into slide shows. They will need to do this with their Ethnicity graph and in their written reports. Furthermore, they will do this later in the year when we do our Science Projects.

Valentine's Breakfast-If you would like to help out, please e-mail Carol Dudley as the big breakfast is Friday, February 12th. An email should have been sent home with the exciting details! Each child will hopefully donate $5 to cover the costs for a lot of food!
On Valentine's Day you may do treats/cards etc. I will upload the list of names soon.
