Dear Parents,

This week we are finishing up testing so there will not be much of any homework. Also, this Wednesday is the last day of the after school program.

On Thursday about half of our class will be at the International Games at Soquel High School. I will be coaching that do so their will be a substitute teacher.

On Thursday at 5pm-6pm we also have OPEN HOUSE and I'm hoping for all parents and students to come as it is their last one at Rio. There are some fun things planned so please try to make it, even for a portion. The night's events will showcase your child's art, writing and projects from the school year. One student will be reading their graduation speech. In addition, our class will be singing some class favorites. Finally, there will be a little slide show of class pictures from the year set to music.

At the Boardwalk next week some of the rides will not be open, but many will still be operating. For students that paid, they will get a $15 gift certificate card to be spent in the arcade and Neptune's Kingdom. If your child has a pass, they may want to bring some extra money other activities/food. Please make sure that your child brings a lunch that day to school. In addition, have your child put on sunscreen because it will be a long day outside 70 degree forecast.

In addition, 11 students said they have Boardwalk Passes so I'm assuming you purchased those! Otherwise, it will be kind of a boring day for them.

Here are the drivers for the field trip next Thursday, May 26th, to the Boardwalk at 10:00 am that filled out all insurance paperwork, are vaccinated and TB tested through district:

Adele Lauderbach (6 students)

Becky Lavelle (6)

Diana Seima (6)

Jason Smith (7)

Barbara Stearn (4)

Susan Ramos (4)

I look forward to seeing you Thursday at Open House! Let me know if you have any questions, or concerns.

Almost there!

Mr. Sweet
