WEEK 12
Dear Parents and Students of Room 12,
We will only have class Monday - Wednesday this week in observance of Veteran's Day.
As a result, our homework will not be the same this week. We will still be reading Crispin and doing a little math.
However, there will be no spelling or vocabulary this week. Hooray!
In class we are each going to be learning about a famous person from the Medieval Times to extend our learning
of the middle age from Crispin. Each child will be researching using our computers, including our new iMac, about one of the following:
1. William Tell
2. Richard the Lionhearted
3. Robin Hood
4. King Arthur
5. Lancelot
6. Thomas Aquinas
7. Joan of Arc
8. Robert the Bruce
9. Galileo
10. Queen Elizabeth
11. Mary, Queen of Scots
12. Saladin
13. Vlad Dracula
14. Erasmus
15. Dante
16. Geoffry Chaucer
17. King Luix IX
18. Tamerlane
19. Merlin
20. William Shakespeare
21. Leonardo da Vinci
22. William Wallace-Braveheart
23. Kublai Kan
24. King Edward Longshanks
25. Nicolaus Copernicus
26. Martin Luther
27. Nostradamus
28. Elenor of Aquitaine
29. El Cid
30. Johan Gutenberg
31. Paracelsus
32. Michalengelo
33. Donatello
It should be a fun class project which incorporates: technology, writing, art, research and CURIOSITY!
Each child will share their Middle Age Project with the class in the form of a speech. Students will video tape and edit
each speech with our flip camera. This will be an in-class project that will not be due until Friday, November 19th. Students
will practice their speeches in class and at home with cue cards.
See you at the school where kind hearts and open minds rule!
