What's happening?
* In Room 12 we have a flurry learning and projects converging before the break. This week students have written their speech outline for their Heritage Reports. Students signed up for Thurs/Fri/Mon/Tue/Wed for their Speech presentations. Today we began the News Teams presentations. They will need to practice at home and will have time in class too. The Speech grading rubric was also sent home.
* In reading we will be finishing The Bridge to Terabithia this week and the Giver, that I am reading aloud, will be finished next week. This means the class will be able to earn up to 11 points in Accelerated Reader.
* In Social Studies we will wrap our Unit of Study on the Colonies before the break. We will start learning about the Revolution after the new year.
* The Colony Museum Exhibits are on display in class if you would like to see them. They look great!
* Students are selecting their Science Projects w/Investigative Questions by this coming Monday, December 15th.
* Field Trip forms due asap. PLEASE BRING IN $1 to pay for the performance.
* Math Team B will be able to begin the new math book at the beginning of the new year.
* The Science Projects will not be due until Friday, February 6th. It is not required for students to work over the break on this project. However, this extended time will give some students a chance to finish it.
* A special thanks to Rachel S. and Sydney R. and Olivia Q. for designing The 2nd Grade Play Brochure. It looks great!
* Our Winter class party will be next Friday, December 19th. Each child will need to bring a small present for the annual White Elephant Gift Exchange. Please keep the presents under $10.

That's it for now!
